TEMODAR is for oral administration. You may also receive Temodar by injection into a vein (intravenous). It is on your doctor to decide whichever method will fruitful for you. TEMODAR affects the rapid growing cells including bone marrow cells, which may result in decreasing blood cells.

Dosage of Temodar or Generic Temozolomide The Anti Cancer Medicine

It is a chemotherapy drug so your dose is based on your height and weight, and the number of treatment cycles. There are two common dosing schedules for taking TEMODAR are listed below:

• Some people take TEMODAR for 42 days in a row (possibly 49 days depending on side effects) with radiation treatment. It is the initial step of treatment and which may be followed by a “maintenance” treatment. Six more cycles of TEMODAR may be prescribed by your doctor. In this treatment, you may be told to take TEMODAR one time each day for 5 days in a row and after that you will be told to stop medication for the next 23 days. Temodar medication by this method is continued in a 28-day maintenance treatment cycle.

• Another way to take TEMODAR is to take it one time each day for 5 days in a row only, and then you stop taking it for the next 23 days. This is one cycle of treatment (28 days). According to your progress your doctor will decide how long you should continue medication with Temodar. Optimum duration might be to take TEMODAR is until your tumor gets worse or for possibly up to 2 years.
