FAQ about Imuran Generic

 How IMURAN Generic works?

When our body functions normally, the immune system (defense system) produces antibodies to save body against infection from invading bacteria and viruses. In certain conditions known as autoimmune MG, our body immune system starts to produce abnormal acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibodies. These AChR interfere in the normal functioning of immune system and start to block certain receptor sites needed for neuromuscular transmission. As a result of this malfunctioning muscle get weakens. Azathioprine suppresses the immune system and reduces the production of AChR antibodies. This allows the receptors to regenerate and function more normally in neuromuscular transmission and results in a return of muscle strength.
