Dianette is also used as an effective combined oral contraceptive pill. Cyproterone acetate is a derivative of progesterone, and Ethinylestradiol, is a synthetic version of a naturally-occurring female hormone, oestrogen. This medicine works as a contraceptive by counteracting the maturation and release of eggs from the ovaries and also enhances the thickness of the mucus present in the Cervix, which blocks the path of sperm, so that it is not able to reach into the vagina.
