Product description of AZIDERM CREAM 20:

AZIDERM CREAM 20 or Azelaic acid is a topical medication to manage the inflammatory acne and mild to moderate whiteheads. Azelaic acid contains dicarboxylic acid that exhibits anti- bacterial activity. Azelaic acid acts by killing the bacteria that infect the pores of the skin. Even it also declines the production of keratin that causes the acne.

Instructions for applying Aziderm cream:

Aziderm is recommended for twice daily i.e. in the morning and in the evening daily to apply on the affected area. Wash the affected area with warm water and soap before applying the cream. Rinse it and dry the affected area. Apply a thin film of the cream and thoroughly massaged the Aziderm cream with gentle hand onto the affected area of the skin to distribute evenly. Allow the cream to dry. The duration of using the Aziderm cream depends on the severity of the acne and can vary from person to person. Also clean your hands before and after using the Aziderm cream. Do not use any bandage to cover it. Take your full course of medication.

Uses of Aziderm Cream:

Aziderm cream is used for the topical treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris, Melasma (tanning), whiteheads, blackheads, etc.

Storage of the Aziderm cream:

Keep the drug in cool and dry place. Store the drug below room temperature, i.e. 30 0C. Avoid exposure to excess heat and freezing of the product.

Contraindications of the AZIDERM CREAM 20:

Some contraindications associated with Aziderm cream are-

  1. In the patient who are hypersensitive to Azelaic acid or other components of the drug.

  2. In the children below 12 years of the age.

  3. Contraindicated in the injured skin, burnt or cut or lesion on the skin.

  4. Even if there is severe sunburn it is contraindicated.

Interactions of the Aziderm cream 20:

Such medications that cause interaction are benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, herbal and natural products, oil containing products, salicylic acid, products having alcohol, etc. Caution should be taken if you are using astringent.
Side-effects of Aziderm cream:

Possible common side effects of Aziderm cream are- dryness of skin, itching of skin, redness and stinging at the area of the skin where the cream is applied. Some severe side effects that can occur are- severe allergic reaction like rashes, pimples, difficulty in breathing, pain in chest, swellings of mouth, face, lips and tongue; changes in skin color can be seen, peeling of the kin or inflammation at the site of application.

  1. If the patient is allergic to Aziderm cream then proper precaution should be taken and discuss with your doctor.

  2. If the patient has a history of asthma or cold sores then they should take proper care while applying Aziderm cream, if any, of Aziderm cream is absorbed into the blood may cause interaction with the medicines of the asthma and cold sores.

  3. Avoid contact of Aziderm cream with eyes, nose, mouth or vagina. If the cream enters into your eyes then wash it at once with plenty of water.

  4. If the Aziderm cream is swallowed by mistake then contact your nearest clinic or emergency as it may cause harm.

  5. Do not use any other products for your face while using Aziderm cream.

  6. Take caution while using the Aziderm cream in children younger than 12 years of age.

Missed Dose of Aziderm cream 20:

If the patient missed a dose of Aziderm cream apply it as soon as you get remembered. If it gets the time for the next dose then skip it and move further for your regular dose schedule.

Overdose of Aziderm cream 20:
